Canada - Day 7 (1) - Rainforest Trail at Tofino

Naipablaak: 04.09.2018

Today it was time to get up early again. Our stay in Tofino unfortunately came to an end today, as we continued our journey to Parksville, which would be a stopover until tomorrow when we would take the ferry back to the mainland. It was a bit difficult for us to leave our beautiful accommodation here. We really liked it here, especially Luke was very impressed with Tofino. I also found it really nice here, although a bit too wet. Because, who would have guessed, it rained again today. As always.

With a heavy heart, we left our little cottage here and set off. But on the way, we stopped at the Rainforest Trail. It is located along the Long Beach road, so we didn't have to drive very far. When we arrived at our destination, it was still raining, but strangely enough, it didn't bother me in the rainforest. It somehow belongs here.

The Rainforest Trail consists of two paths, which we both walked, so it didn't really matter which one we started with. The entire trail was, of course, wonderfully covered with wooden planks, so it shouldn't be a problem for anyone to walk this path. Equipped with rain jackets, we admired the rainforest again, which is really something special. Along the way, there are information boards that provide us with information about the inhabitants of the rainforest and other interesting things about the rainforest. It's unbelievable how old some of the trees here are! Even the explorer James Cook stood before these mighty giants. Hard to imagine! Many of the trees are so thick that it takes several people to wrap their arms around them. It's just a fascinating thought that these trees have been here for so long before us and will still be here long after us.

Be impressed by the photos!
