Visiting tour to Cape of good hope, boulder beach with Penguin 🐧 colony and Muizenberg colored huts

Left at 10am to head out for Cape of good hope via Chapman’s Drive (a route along the cliffs on top of the ocean as scenic as at the French Riviera). Stopped at Noordhoek Beach for a walk and testing the ice cold ocean up to knees again. No swimming for us today but some brave ones got in… it’s a beautiful seemingly infinite long beach and quite windy. The wind kept with us the whole day today and picked up a lot!! We drove down to the Cape of good hope Reserve and saw some baboons right next or on the street. At the scenic point, we took the obvious picture next to the Cape of good hope signs and went up on top to have an outlook to both sides of the Cape and were actually trying to figure out where the meeting point of both oceans is located?!

Went further on the road and saw an ostrich couple (one black, one brown one) with their chicks 🐥! We then stopped at Boulders beach to visit the penguin colon there. It’s a bird sanctuary that is well maintained and built, enabling the visitors to watch the penguins 🐧 in their natural habitats and hopefully not disturb them too much on board walks that end on a couple of platforms that allow to remain as long as liked to enjoy the colony. As it grew within the last 4 decades from 2 mating couples in 1982 to now over 2,200 birds, it seems to work pretty good!

Last stop today was in Muizenberg to take pics of the famous colored beach huts and watch some keen kite surfers out on the water. As we’ve gotten hungry as well as also a bit tired and cold due to the strong wind, we left it at a short stop and took on the road back to Cape Town and dinner at our hotel on the promenade.

Time is flying by if you’re enjoying yourself!! Only one more day left in beautiful South Africa 🇿🇦.
