On Friday, January 17, 2020, I took the bus to Hue in the morning. The famous Hai Van Pass is located between Hoi An and Hue, a 20km long stretch that runs along the sea and through the mountains. I had decided against a guided tour through it, but I was glad when my bus still partially drove the route and I had a good view.
Upon arriving in Hue, I was able to check into the hostel immediately and then went on a tour of the city with my new roommates.
The first thing we noticed was the 'Cao Dai Temple of Vinh Loi'. With its vibrant colors, it stands out next to the white building. The palace of the king in the late 19th century is now uninhabited and can be visited by tourists. The architecture back then was influenced by France.
On the way back, we passed by a beautiful church and two small lakes.
