I woke up in the cozy Rovangen cabin by the lake. I knew I had a long hike ahead of me and immediately started with breakfast. I said goodbye to the German couple and started walking again. After a small ascent, the Fjordruta went back downhill and I hiked into the Aure Nature Reserve. After a while, I noticed that instead of crossing the mountain pass as planned, I was walking on a road to the small town of Aure. So I dragged myself kilometer after kilometer along the small country road, passing numerous farmhouses and barns, until I reached the village.
Upon arriving in Aure, I first visited the supermarket to replenish my supplies. Then I took a short lunch break at a bench with a fjord view and ate the freshly bought fruit. I decided not to walk on the road to the first island on the Fjordruta, which, as I had learned, could be reached via bridges and tunnels, and started hitchhiking. At first, I had little success and started walking through the first tunnel on the road. Eventually, a nice gentleman picked me up and drove me to the trail. He also told me about a sports club cabin where one could apparently stay very cheaply.
I strolled up the wet ascent, with my feet once again getting soaked, but this was compensated by a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. After a few hours, I reached the described cabin, where I found the key in a small box in front of the cabin. There, I lit the fireplace and made myself comfortable on the couch. I cooked myself some Swedish pea soup (Ärtsoppa) and relaxed while reading my book by the fireplace. After a while, sleep took hold of me.
