4-Day-Uyuni-Tour - Day 3

On the third day, we visited one last rock formation - the Condor, the bird of South America. It at least resembled a bird.

Afterwards, we made our way to the Flamingo Lake that was promised to us. On the way, we had another off-road adventure. We drove through 50cm deep water, so that the tires were completely submerged.

We soon arrived at the lake - again a great view with flamingos in the foreground and slightly white mountains in the background.

There was also an ecological toilet - a sieve in the front and a hole in the back..and if you hit the wrong container, you have to clean the toilet yourself. There wasn't even a flush and you had to pay 80 cents for it!

Afterwards, we went to the last lake, where some flamingos had settled. Here, we had lunch and a mouse 🐀 enjoyed the leftovers on the plate.

The next stop was the Ollague Volcano at the Chilean border. It is semi-active, which means it only emits smoke. The last eruption is said to have been 15,000 years ago.

The last stop before going to the Salt Hostel were the train tracks that the train from Uyuni to San Pedro de Atacama runs on 🚊. Here, we took some funny photos and stuck our heads through the tracks.

Shortly after we finished, an actual taxi train arrived. Only one wagon came rumbling - about half the size of a normal wagon in Germany.

And then we finally went to the Salt Hostel. There were only double rooms, so Tom and I had our own room again that night. When we arrived at the accommodation, we first got in line for the shower since none of us had showered since departure. Shortly after us, there was no hot water for a while, so some people complained immediately. After a while, it worked again. In the evening, we played Uno again, like the night before, and then had dinner.

Then it was time to admire the starry sky since there is no light here to hinder the view. We could see the Milky Way and countless stars ☄. Since the moon is currently more visible during the day than at night, it couldn't interfere either. But I haven't been able to take the perfect photo of the Milky Way yet, so I'll have to wait until San Pedro de Atacama. ⛺🌌🌟

As it was getting chilly again - although not as much as the previous nights - we soon went to bed. On the last day, we had to leave the hostel at 5:30 a.m., so we wanted to get some sleep.
