Nekromanteion Acheronta

The Nekromanteion was a necromantic oracle near the ancient city of Ephyra on the coast of Greece.

We spent two nights at the beautiful campsite on top of the mountain. The Nekromanteion is located nearby. Excavations of a former necromantic oracle that is said to have existed at this site in the past.

However, the accuracy of the excavations has long been doubted. It is speculated that it was actually a larger estate. No one knows for sure what is actually located there and whether there are any other buildings underground or in close proximity that want to be discovered. We really liked this place. Somehow it had a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.

By the way, there are also turtles here, like almost everywhere in Greece. Sometimes you have to look for them, but if you are attentive, you can hear them.
