So fast everything is over

And here it is, our last day of vacation before heading back home. Today we were at Granville Island at the market. A lot has changed there in the last few years. Several small shops have settled around the market hall. But everything inside the market hall has remained the same. Even the fishmonger where we bought our salmon in 2014 was still there. And 'Kaisers', where you can eat German bratwurst with onions and sauerkraut, and where you even get German mustard.

Simply sitting outside in the open air, with a cup of coffee, listening to the musicians who play in hourly rotation, and watching people. And all of this under a blue sky and sunshine. For Mats and me, this is pure relaxation. The highlight was a seagull that flew in from behind in a nosedive and pounced on a girl's food. She was so scared that she dropped the entire paper plate. Well, the seagull had achieved its goal.

Later, we went to the beach across from Granville. The highlight there was the setting up of a beach volleyball net. It was also very interesting, right Matthias? ;-)

All in all, another really relaxing day. And to end the day, we went back to the Thai restaurant where we were yesterday.

The vacation felt long but also so short. We started planning a year in advance and were really excited about it, and now it's almost over. What remains are the many beautiful memories, great experiences, and impressions, and of course countless pictures. But also the realization of what an incredibly beautiful country Alaska is.

When we get home, we will already start planning for the next vacation. We still want to see so much. Namibia, Cuba, Iceland, Scotland, Ireland, Norway...

Let's see in which country our next blog starts.
