Wai O Tapu Thermal

Next up were the Wai O Tapu Springs.

A 30-minute drive from the campsite.

When we arrived there, we walked to the geyser and watched a show.

A biodegradable liquid was added until the geyser erupted and it bubbled out.

This created a huge steam cloud.

Afterwards, we took a one-hour tour of the facility.

There were many different hot springs with different colors.

Some of them had a temperature of 100 C. Only the smell caused by the sulfur springs was extreme.

It was simply breathtaking to see the different springs and the nature around them.

In the end, we strolled through the souvenir shop and then continued towards Rotorua for lunch.
