23.8. Düdenbüttel - Arrival in Büsum

Հրատարակվել է: 25.08.2019

We want to make a short visit to Düdenbüttel. We will drive there through the Alte Land along the dike and have lunch on the way.

First surprise: You don't have to cross the Köhlbrand bridge anymore, there is a new road south of the Süderelbe. "New" is relative. My knowledge is thirty years old.

Photographed again with a tripod and us in the foreground.

Finding a restaurant for lunch is difficult.

Elbe-Blick in the Alte Land is not open for lunch. According to the owner I met, it's because she doesn't have any staff.

But Elbe-Blick at Stader Strand is open.

Here, 13 km away from Düdenbüttel, there is a ferry to Hamburg. I didn't know that before.

Altländer Schnitzel (Jörn probably knows that) and Limandesfilet. Limandes is a type of flounder.

After being refreshed, we continue to Düdenbüttel. I shouldn't drive there weak. A grave and a no longer existing house are not that funny.

Jochem and Erika are buried here.

And here was once their house. After it burned down in 1982 and was rebuilt by Jochem and Erika, it was destroyed again last year by a lightning strike. As if it had never been there.

We take the ferry at Wischhafen to cross the Elbe, as I explained to Katja. That's cool. However, if you have to wait in line for 2.5 hours, it's less fun. Fortunately, we have been on vacation for a week and are completely relaxed.

The Elbe from the ferry, heading towards the North Sea. It doesn't get narrower.

Arrival shortly before 6 p.m. Set-up time 45 minutes.
