'Hüüslitag' in Krk

Հրատարակվել է: 12.10.2021

So, yesterday was 'Hüüslitag' in Krk. The morning started as the evening ended. The Bora wind raged, accompanied by some not very strong rain showers and cool temperatures. That's why I'm not in a hurry with my morning routine and can prepare my beloved fried eggs with bacon in peace. A cup of coffee from the Bialetti and the day can begin. Of course, I won't spend the whole day in the motorhome, even though it's really cozy and warm in here. But the old town of Krk is just a stone's throw away, so let's go!

My tour starts at the harbor, where I get a good overview of the town with just under 3500 inhabitants. The dominant feature is the bell tower of the Cathedral of Krk. It was built in the 16th century. In the 18th century, the original tower was rebuilt and received the onion-shaped baroque spire that is typical for the city today.

Now I circle around the harbor and immerse myself in the maze of narrow streets. In the off-season, there's not much going on here, so I can stroll around undisturbed. Today I definitely see more cats than people. Even the nice lady at the tourist office has plenty of time to provide me with advice and brochures. The paths in this town are not far, so my little round is soon finished. Since the museums and exhibitions that interest me are closed, I make a detour to Konzum to buy dinner.

In the meantime, the weather has improved. There's even a hint of a rainbow in the sky. Maybe a good omen and a sign of good weather?

I spend the evening reading and writing. Surprisingly, I receive a lot of feedback about my trip on various channels. I appreciate that very much and am happy that dear people are virtually traveling with me. Thank you very much to all of you!
