Opening hours were against us

Cheers to the air conditioning because it's just too hot 🔥 Even though it was even hotter at home than here, sleeping is not really restful 😴

After a late breakfast, we drove towards Parma. On the outskirts of the city, there is a free parking lot in every direction, from where a bus takes you to the city center 🅿️ Online it said that the day bus ticket costs 2.50€, at the machine you couldn't select anything and only hold your bank card against it. Now we were charged 7€ each, but we should get the rest back (also according to the internet) when the correct fare is found. We will see 🤷🏼‍♀️🚌💳

We strolled through the city, which has beautiful colorful houses. The palace was not as impressive as other palaces, but still nice, at least from the outside. Inside there was a museum which didn't sound so exciting 🧱😅

Then we visited the Parma Cathedral, the adjacent Baptistery, and the corresponding museum. The cathedral was impressive, even though they don't have benches but folding chairs, which were all folded up at the edge ⛪️

The Baptistery looks bigger from the outside but was worth the entrance fee. In the center stood the huge baptismal font and at the edge there were figures representing each month and the corresponding zodiac signs ♊️♐️

The museum was included with the ticket but was not exciting at all. It was just a hallway and a relatively small room. There was a film in Italian about the cathedral and the baptistery, and stone figures that were too worn out 🪨

Then we had yogurt with fruits from a cute little shop run by an older woman. It was delicious 🥄😋

Otherwise, we had a bit of bad luck because the other church had a lunch break of 1.5 hours. The music museum was closed on Tuesdays. Next to it, we found a cool playground 🎻🎭

Then we took an electric scooter (my first time 🤪🙈) to the Ducal Palace. It would have been impressive and we would have liked to relax in the adjacent park. But due to a concert or something, the park was simply closed and we couldn't get to the palace. At least we were close to the bus stop again and went back to the parking lot and drove to Reggio nell'Emilia. It was also too hot in the convertible, so we decided to drive back with the air conditioning 😂🚌🚗

We took advantage of the supermarket near the parking lot to buy a small lunch and water. After eating, we started watching an episode of Umbrella Academy, but then decided to take a nap instead 😂😴

Around 7pm, we ventured outside again. It was still warm, but since the sun wasn't blazing anymore, it was bearable. We walked through the small adjacent park and the city and treated ourselves to a cocktail in one of the many bars. With the ordered drink, there is often a small snack. So we got two small bags of salted chips and two small bags of puff pastry snacks (spinach, tuna, sausages) and focaccia. Super nice idea, we need that in Germany too 🍹🫓

Back home, we had some grapes as a snack 🍇 and had some things to do. And now we enjoy the air conditioning 🧊❄️
