It was a spontaneous decision that brought us to Llangollen, in the middle of Festival Summer, but that didn't spoil the fun. We were in Wales in August, in September and now in June.
THAT had a funny side effect though, because we are now back in the middle of the hills and of course that affects the sun a little. But that is magical for me, because the solstice is probably more impressive by the sea, but it was atmospheric here too! I really waited until the last ray of sun, then the sun was behind the hill, but it didn't really disappear until 30 minutes later. I loved it because it was my first solstice so far north and it's amazing how late the sun sets here! I was enchanted!
Loki and I are currently travelling alone a lot. In the Peak District we were in Dovedale, yesterday at Dinas Bran Castle and today on the ridge above the castle. All of these were huge tours that Nerone would probably not have had any problems with, as there were a lot of sheep there that he liked to chase away. The god of mischief is usually relaxed after a scolding and only runs when the sheep are jumping. It was funny, it was a lot of fun, because when I see Calluna and Gorse, I almost feel like I'm in Scotland, which we didn't do because of Palumbi.
I snacked on blueberries today and of course kept standing in sheep poop, but I enjoyed it because the view was amazing, the view of the castle ruins was priceless and it was just beautiful!
I'm in my element here, it's funny because I switch to a kind of dialect with the Scottish campers, only to then speak almost Mancunian with someone from Manchester. I feel comfortable, it's fun, I chat with the other campers, we exchange ideas.
We will stay here for a few more days and, in addition to Chester, which we visited 20 years ago, we will go on many hikes and the like.
