Lynn Canyon Park, Japanese Festival

It's the weekend and we're visiting the Japanese Festival on Powell Street in Vancouver. We admire the traditional clothing worn mostly by women, we dress up as sushi, make small Japanese souvenirs, practice calligraphy with big brushes, or spin the umbrella as fast as we can to open it. It's a new and interesting culture and we can recommend it.

On Monday, it's a holiday and we take the SeaBus, a public transportation ferry, to the north side of Vancouver and visit Lynn Canyon Park with its suspension bridge and waterfall. At the bottom of the waterfall, you can go for a swim as well as in the pools further up the river. It's very refreshing, although a bit chilly, but almost everyone went in or built stone sculptures with the rocks. The suspension bridge is very popular, you have to wait to cross it and you are never alone to swing it.

At the upper exit of the park, there is a very nice café with souvenirs and ice cream. At the nearby parking lot and on the way to the bus stop, there is a water playground for children with lots of fun in the sunshine.
