Batumi - a tourist coastal town on the Black Sea. Pebble beach with a direct foot massage on the way to refreshment.

For 20 Lari you can take a marshrutka from Kutaisi to Batumi - about 3.5h.

I heard it's supposed to look like Dubai here - well, I'll see for myself.

The weather forecast doesn't look soooo good - but hey, I wanted to work on the blog anyway ;-)

Batumi is truly touristy - the water is still cold and the beach is not very suitable for children - it's rocky and the water gets deep very quickly.

15 years ago, it was still a small fishing village and now it's a place where international investments put their money into real estate.

Casinos everywhere - and they advertise with extremely sexist messages. Turkey is not far away, so there are many Turkish families on vacation here.

The Harmony Hostel is run by two Russians who are around 25 years old - that brings up a lot of thoughts.

How is it when there is a state of emergency in your country, you don't know when or if you can return, and at the same time, you wonder how welcome you really are in Georgia and how long you can/should/want to stay here.
