Today the largest excursion was planned. 177km one way trip to Skagen/Grene. The northernmost tip of mainland Denmark. Known to the sea lions among you as the place where the North Sea and the Baltic Sea merge. I have been on the water side there several times, but never on the peninsula. So we set off at 8.45, after a delicious breakfast. We reached the end of Denmark at 11.20. Man, it seemed like 2000 people had the same idea at the same time. What a babylonian language confusion. After a brief glance at the German bunkers from World War II here, the so-called North Atlantic Wall, we continued on foot for another 2 km to the real tip. Thanks to the boys and their sun song, it stayed dry from above. It was quite a sight. And I thought there were more waves on the North Sea than on the Baltic Sea. By the way, my boys counted 21 ships at anchor. Quite impressive.

After a while, we headed back. We still wanted to climb the lighthouse. 203 steps were supposed to take us up to 54m. The ascent was extremely narrow, very interesting for tall people. Fortunately, there was hardly any oncoming traffic, and everyone was in vacation mode. Despite the strong wind, the view was beautiful. Even my partner with a fear of heights dared to come up. I have great respect for that. Time passed much too quickly and we had to start our way back. So, quickly a soft ice cream for everyone and the obligatory postcards for those who stayed at home, and then into the car.

The return journey felt faster than the journey there. But everyone's stomach growled, and we couldn't wait to be satiated with meatballs, potatoes, vegetables and sauce. It really tasted delicious. The day for the kids ended with a movie on the tablet in bed. In this quiet time, I took the time for the travel blog. After all the kids fell asleep, the adults sat together comfortably.
