One last 'To-Do' in Whangarei were the 3 caves.
We had chosen the best weather for exploring the caves. So we started in sunshine and our path led us through lush green meadows at first.
The entrance of the first cave already seemed very exciting to us. So we were very disappointed when we couldn't go further after a few meters because the cave was flooded with water.
The same fate awaited us at Cave number 2. So our expectations were very low when we reached the last cave.
But Ivy (that's the name of the last cave) didn't want to disappoint us. The entrance was very muddy and the stones extremely slippery, which is why many didn't dare to enter the cave at all.
But we continued descending into the cave and were rewarded again.
