We started the Asian day in true style with fried rice on Saturday. We had to fortify ourselves for the guided 'historical city walk', which was supposed to start at the Red Square in Melaka. With our guide ZamZam, who told us many interesting things about the city, we explored the old town with the A Famosa fortress (formerly Portuguese), the Christ Church, the Stadthuys (Dutch town hall), two temples in Chinatown and many other things.
After the tour, we were so exhausted from the heat that we sat down in the shade of the city walls with an ice-cold watermelon. We were approached by an Indonesian tour group and asked for a photo. Then Jana and I posed individually with the Indonesian men. They were all fascinated to meet two tall blonde women who towered over them in size. :-)
