Közzétett: 28.10.2020
Day 1: Friday, 23.08.2019
Route: Munich-Venezia cycle path
Start: Bad Tölz
Destination: Achenkirch
Distance traveled: 60.3 km
pure driving time: 3:45 h
9:13 AM (Alex)
Once upon a time... five friends set out on a long and arduous journey. The first stage is Bad Tölz, where our sixth companion will join us. Since this path will be very difficult (Bad Tölz is quite a distance away), I will now describe my comrades. On one side, we have the most stylish of all: Julle. With her purple shorts, green shirt, and red scarf, she has a distinctive look and could almost be called an influencer. Sitting opposite her is our Nico. I don't need to say anything more about her because she will tell everything herself (she talks and talks and talks and talks and talks...). Next is Krissi, who shaved her legs specifically for our little vacation. And of course, our token man, if one can call Max with his one long chest hair that.
Hopefully Anna will be waiting for us when we arrive in Bad Tölz, if she is not too spaced out, gets lost, or something unexpected happens, like sudden snowfall. And of course (well, it's not so obvious), there's still me. The wonderful and unique Alex.
Now, back to the here and now, a little update: We left home this morning at around 9 o'clock and will probably arrive at the Aldi in the south of Bad Tölz around 11:30 / 12 to buy chocolate and beer (Nico had only one task, to buy chocolate and she screwed it up).
Interjection: Nico and Krissi have brought globules for every case and every occasion. So if Emilies' (my bicycle) battery runs out... globules!
2:26 PM (Nico)
After 1 1/2 hours, we are now taking our first longer break. And having a leisurely snack. Anna is eating Nico's apple after a mouse bit hers. Alex is wearing a yellow windbreaker from her dad, which makes her look like an inflated plush toy while riding. Krissi is helping others get an aerodynamic backpack or something similar. And I just ate the last pieces of Nussschmilka (chocolate hazelnut cream) because Anna only bought two and I forgot the other four at home.
It's a bit cloudy, there's a slight breeze, but otherwise it's nice weather. We have already traveled 29 km, but almost 10 of those were just in Bad Tölz to pick up Anna (injured) from the Aldi at the other end of town. We had to climb a little hill there and already sweated a lot.
So, even though Alex just said she doesn't want to be so dominant anymore, she just threw the idea into the round to continue. So with that, Roger! Out! And we're moving on.
7:03 PM (Anna) at 60 km
Yes, finished cycling for today! Having fun and beer!
7:16 PM (Julle)
Now it's my turn to write. We're sitting in front of Pension Christina's house right now. It's really cozy, we're drinking beer, Max and Alex don't want to talk to us (Grump!) and are sitting in chairs somewhere else. Krissi has already taken a shower, Nico doesn't feel like it, and Anna stinks because she has only taken a shower once since Sunday and has sweated a lot.
What has happened so far: We took a break on a cozy bench in a parking lot next to the Isar River. That's when the sun finally came out. Then we continued uphill and drove through a tunnel, and then we stood in front of Lake Sylvenstein. That was a gigantic view! First, we looked at it in peace, then we continued on the federal road along the lake, always slightly uphill. At the village of Fall, we left the federal road and followed a gravel road. It went up and down. It was quite exhausting with the gravel because our thin tires often didn't have any grip. But the scenery was beautiful! We passed an alpine pasture that stood on a wide meadow. Otherwise, it was wooded. Eventually, a stream appeared to our right, sometimes with large boulders in the water, but already hollowed out.
Finally, we crossed a bridge and "swam" on the other side. So Max and I put our feet in the water. I almost froze! To get back on the path, we had to climb a very steep slope (with gravel). We all had to push our bikes. Alex had a hard time with her e-bike. By the way, Anna unfortunately had the most problems with her bike because her chain jumped off a few times (okay, only 3 times). At some point, we cycled on a bike path next to the federal road, then we democratically decided to take the route on the federal road and soon arrived in Achenkirch. This is already really in the mountains! I couldn't do it anymore because I was so hungry. And so were the others. And Alex and Max couldn't go another second without beer, the drunks ;).
Then we just went shopping after getting a little lost. And then we only had 70 meters of altitude left to the guesthouse. I refused. I had no more strength. Buuut now we've had a snack and now everything is good again! It was definitely exhausting (except for Anna) but beautiful!
7:49 PM (Max)
Hello, I am the legendary Max. And I forgot to mention that I am "good looking" in the last sentence. The food was good, albeit late. However, today, on August 23, 2019, until quarter to 7, there was an acute shortage of beer. Two, maybe three people would have done anything for beer in these difficult hours. We are now writing 19 hours and 49 minutes, and my acute concerns mentioned above seem to decrease with the opening of the third beer. After 400g of sausage, I am in the process of regaining my full mental strength - strong-arm-smiley.
With kind regards, Daum Maximilian
