60. Sithonia -> Sarti -> Vouvourou

60. Tag: Once again, Greece is showing its best side. Today was the first time we felt like taking a swim in the sea right after waking up, thanks to the warm morning sun. The water was very calm, crystal clear as always, and the view was magnificent. We just need to work on the water temperatures.

In the late morning, we arrived in Sarti, the largest seaside resort on the east coast of Sithonia. The beach street is lined with accommodations for sunseekers. Luckily, there are only small hotels and apartment complexes. The beach is wide, deep, and sandy, just as holidaymakers wish for. The place is not really ugly, but besides the great beach, turquoise waters, and the unique view of Mount Athos, there is nothing that would attract us.

After a stroll of about 2 hours in Sarti, we continued to Vouvourou. We headed to a parking spot right by Karidi Beach. It's nice to be surrounded by pine trees.

The first quick glance at the beach already made us shout with joy. This is definitely one of the best things we have seen on our trip!

First, we take a round to explore all four main beaches of the village. Each one is different, all are beautiful, but Karidi Beach is by far the most beautiful one to look at. However, the beauty of this place is no longer a secret, which is why there are more tourists there than we have seen before. We go out for a second time with our bathing suits and find our tiny private bay where we spend the rest of the afternoon. This tranquility and the Caribbean-like water, simply wonderful!

We end the day with dishes from traditional Greek cuisine. Everything is delicious as always.
