After a day off where I met lovely people and had intense conversations, I continued on Thursday. I had chosen Lake Starnberg as my next destination, as I really enjoy the tranquility of the water at the moment.
Around Lake Ammersee, especially in the southern part, there are many nature reserves. Some rare birds nest here. For example, I saw many herons and lapwings.
Then I go through agriculturally influenced areas again. Many cows can be seen in the pastures. Often, they are lying there calmly, chewing again and again. There are many farms in the villages that are still being cultivated.
The Alps are getting closer now and the mountains can be seen clearly today. They stand like a wall in the landscape, very imposing.
At the end of the hiking day, I go through forests, past quiet ponds. Then, after about 23 km, Bernried is reached and it is nice to be by the water again!
Here I will stay another day and take a smaller hike before continuing on Sunday.
The insight of the day: I am becoming more and more composed, which is what hiking should bring me. It is not so important to keep moving every day.
My word of the day: Trust.
