Since 1829 in Borjomi a mineral water source was discovered, everything in the picturesque little town revolves around the water, which is said to have a soothing effect on stomach problems. As early as the time of the Tsars and later during Soviet times, the springs were enclosed, spa baths were built, and the water was bottled.
Where the Russian aristocracy and famous composers already recovered, it was good enough for us to take it easy for a few days. In the spa park, we tapped the soothing water directly from the source and were strengthened for a day trip to the cave monastery of Vardzia and the fortress of Rabati in Akhaltsikhe, near the border with Turkey.
Surrounded by the Lesser Caucasus, we quickly put on our hiking shoes. Antonia had the pleasure of inaugurating her backpack and seemed quite satisfied with the comfort.
We had heard a lot about Tbilisi. So we were excited to get to know the capital.
