Friends of Sun,
It's raining - at least it's been raining all day in Bilbao, so I'm very happy that I'm lying in my hotel room and enjoying a dry bed and a bathroom within easy reach. (I'm also actually very happy that it's raining, because at least the money for accommodation wasn't wasted.)
I'll take advantage of the room and the rainy day and give you some updates about my experiences in northern Spain. The first stop and also the first city in northern Spain was Vigo. The largest city on the northern border of Portugal. I drove here from the national park and the way there was an experience in itself. In the mountain villages, not only cows roam freely, but also goats, dogs and horses. And since I can tell you all this: I avoided every single animal and had a heart rate of 180 several times because the animals usually surprised me on the road and I didn't want to hurt the car or the animals. Also, it was really early in the morning and I hadn't had breakfast because I wanted to do this in Vigo.
When I arrived in Vigo, I first walked towards the city center and looked for a suitable place for my breakfast.
I then found what I was looking for at the harbor. There was a lot going on in the city center: the reason for this was the cruise ship that was in the harbor at the time. It was nice and green here and I found a bench in the shade where I munched my bread.
From the harbor I strolled slowly through the city with a bit of luck.
After I walked through the old town and the city center, bought some socks (very unimportant information, but I think it's really cool!) I went towards the viewpoint of the castle in Vigo. It is on a hill and from there you can see the city and also the sea.
And what did I have to overcome again? Stairs - of course! What else?
Vigo is a beautiful city and the castle is really worth a visit. From the park we then walked all the steps back to the car and then continued to a campsite near A Coruna.
But in the next post,
Your Britta
