From Milford Sound we went to Queenstown, but before that we stayed in Lumsden and drove from there to Frankton, about 8 km before Queenstown.
After almost 2 months without pizza, we treated ourselves to tons of pizza.
The day had already begun and there are no free campsites in and around Queenstown.
Therefore, we drove 50 km to Lake Dunstan near Cromwell. Here you are allowed to stay for a maximum of 3 nights in a month and since the weather was so beautiful and summery, we did just that.
Our days consisted of lying in the sun, cooking delicious meals, swimming, and taking walks.
Such a little mini vacation from all the bad weather. It's funny to think that we were just stuck in the snow and suddenly had 27 degrees, the weather here just can't make up its mind.
In the next few days, we will go to Queenstown, explore the city center, do hikes around it, and then go to Glenorchy to do the second half of the Routeburn Track from there.
