Seville!!! Another city that surprised and enchanted us wonderfully. We had our pitch at the sailing harbor of Gelves, 6 km before the city gates. Evening after evening, we waited here in vain for my brother's yacht to arrive. So we rode into the city day after day, bypassing the annoying search for parking.
Seville welcomed us with a loud, funny Fiat rally, lured us through narrow streets, enchanted us with palaces from 1,000 and 1 nights, let us relax in cozy parks, satisfied us with tapas, wine and beer, bathed us in warm sunshine, and said goodbye to us on the Plaza de Espana with a flamenco evening that was as surprising as it was lively. The heels clacking like sewing machines - unbelievable!!! When I stomp in anger, it's like a wet rag slapping against the floor :-( I urgently need to work on my performance ;-)
Seville - Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Caliphs, Almoravids, Visigoths and Normans, Christians and Moors, poets and painters, kings, sailors and merchants, bullfighters and flamenco beauties - they have all left their visible mark on a wonderful old town. By the way, you can also visit Seville by cruise ship or riverboat. We were quite amazed when a rather inappropriate new building appeared in front of us at the bridge, which turned out to be the cruise ship 'Europa' upon closer inspection. How does such a giant make its way 80 km up the murky River Guadalquivir to Seville???
Unfortunately, for me, Seville will also be remembered as the place where I lost my camera, including telephoto lens, and Micha had a flat tire once again. In Media Markt, there were exactly 5 cameras to choose from and only one very grumpy salesperson who didn't want to demonstrate any of them to us. So I still don't have a replacement and the mobile phone has to do the job for now. In return, we bought T-shirts and a pair of shoes for Michi.
