Le Mont Saint Michel

Today I finally visited it - the place that looks so beautiful from afar. But as it is with famous beauties, they attract so many visitors that all the attractiveness is lost. 🤷‍♀️

Right after I set up my motorhome parking 7km away from Mont, I drove eagerly towards this island rock that is visible from a distance - but the increasing number of pedestrians coming towards me even kilometers away spoke for itself. I didn't expect to climb the steps there all by myself, but what is pushing through the streets in terms of tourist crowds is worse than any Saturday during the Kieler Woche sailing event. 😵‍💫

Nevertheless, this abbey is indeed a mystical place, the wide view over the bay, even better from the bay to the abbey, is really beautiful. Within the walls there are countless alleys and stairs, of course also shops and restaurants and many areas that are not accessible to the public. Well then, I think once is enough.

Tomorrow I will continue to the former corsair city of Saint Malo. ☠️
