Day 8 (2014) Bye Bye, Abu Dhabi!

DAY 8: Abu Dhabi - Frankfurt

After packing our suitcases and enjoying one last breakfast in the comfort of the air conditioning (cozy +34 degrees on the terrace in the morning), we begin our journey back home. Off to Abu Dhabi Airport!

The check-in process is quick, we don't have to wait long. We have already booked seats next to each other online the night before, the suitcases are quickly checked in and we make our way to the gate.

Our plane is somewhere on the tarmac. So we enjoy a tour of the airport in a bus.

The ride seems endless. The next 15 planes are not it either...

Oh... a detour to the Seychelles, maybe??? I wouldn't say 'No' to that.

We take off on time and enjoy the wide range of onboard entertainment.

We reach Frankfurt around noon - and freeze miserably....

From +38 degrees back to +8 degrees.... yuck!!!!

Conclusion: Dubai was absolutely amazing! Simply a city of superlatives.... and everywhere you feel that any newly planned building has to surpass everything.... higher, better, further....

However, we liked Abu Dhabi even better. Everything is a bit more 'manageable' here, the city beach Corniche is beautiful, the city is just as fascinating and there is still plenty to discover here, just like in Dubai!!!

So: next autumn we will probably continue our exploration of the UAE!
