We started our day in Greymouth around quarter to 10. Showered/breakfasted and then walked about 3km to a viewing point and a memorial for shipwrecks. The sea was very rough there, with lots of high waves! On the way back, we strolled through the city and went shopping (just like every day it feels like!) and then planned the next few days in our accommodation and booked some places to stay, except for the night after next, when we'll use the car as accommodation. In the meantime, or before that, we had pancakes, Noah's absolute talent! In the evening, a storm started, so the plan to take an evening walk up a nearby mountain got cancelled, and we got in the car, drove to another viewing point, and watched the storm there. It felt like our car was going to fly away, but everything worked out and we ended up back in bed in the evening. The whole thing started again at night, but luckily I only woke up briefly. Finally, in the morning, I spoke to my best friend again before heading towards Franz Josef / Fox Glacier.
