The last few days we have spent in Lefkos, also known as Lefkada.
This time mainly in peace and with a focus on relaxation. That's why we first headed to a campsite and had two days of household chores. Washing clothes, cleaning the car, taking care of ourselves and relaxing. Ronny went snorkeling in the afternoon. However, it was quite disappointing because there was a squid to see and then a lot of garbage. Old tin buckets, paper cups, trash bags, oil cans, etc. It's a shame that there is so little value on environmental consciousness in Greece.
It was very quiet and relaxing at the campsite. This was partly due to the fact that the owner of the neighboring camp intercepted all campers at the entrance road and redirected them to his site. Of course, we also looked at this place and were glad that we didn't get involved. Because it was not only crowded but also less beautiful.
After these two days, we wanted to visit the local olive oil museum but found a closed gate. Only open from May. It's annoying that this was not mentioned on the website, as the access was quite risky. Just like pretty much every access on the island. Because it drove us to one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. At least that's what the internet suggests. We think it's not completely unjustified. Because this bay Porto Katsiki including the beach was simply dreamy beautiful. We have never seen so many shades of blue at once.
Just like us, some other campers also wanted to see it, so it was quite crowded at the free parking space. But we all agreed and spent a peaceful night.
The next day we continued to the next beach Paralia Kathisma. Here again, white sand and such incredibly blue sea. We had arranged to meet a couple from Germany that we had already met in Albania. We drove together for part of the way, then our paths separated. Finally reunited, there was a lot to talk about, so we sat on the beach until late at night and chatted.
However, it doesn't help, the next day we went our separate ways again. But before that, we absolutely had to visit the city of Lefkada and were not disappointed. Such a pretty harbor town. You can really stroll there for hours and spend more money than you want. Where will the journey take us now?
