Tonight at 4:45 am, I stood on the street in my nightgown and greeted the police. What had happened?
In retrospect, something trivial, but in the hours before, we had the impression that a poltergeist regularly came to our hotel door. The ghost made itself known through knocking sounds.
Exactly at 1:22 am, it happened for the first time. Although knocking is an understatement, it was more like hammering, including shaking the doorknob. It sent shivers down our spines and our heart rates soared.
If it had just been noise outside the door, it would have annoyed me. But since someone obviously wanted to enter our room, it was frightening.
In addition, there was laughter and loud conversations. At that time, we also had the impression that the people outside our room were not from the hotel, as the front door kept opening and closing and there was constant coming and going.
Although Annett bravely stood in front of the door and asked for silence, our room remained the center of attention. After a short period of calm, it knocked again at 2:56 am. Then again at 3:52 am and immediately again at 4:13 am. Always with vigorous shaking of the doorknob. Why do I know that so precisely? Because each time, we were completely startled in bed.
Unfortunately, the hotel had no night porter, so I did what I should have done hours earlier: I called the police.
Well, they asked me to come down to the street in my nightgown. I didn't care.
It turned out that our troublemakers, contrary to what we thought, were not strangers, but rather hotel guests just like us. However, these teenagers were full of energy and unwilling to go to bed.
Therefore, this experience will surely remain our memory of Kufstein. It's a shame because Kufstein is a nice little town with a beautiful old town and a large fortress. Plus, you can explore the mountains or one of the numerous lakes from here.
Since we only had a few hours to explore, I only took a few photos for you.
