And here we are again: in the land of our hearts. When we boarded the plane in Osaka and were greeted with Sawasdee Kha, my heart warmed and jumped a little.
It's going home - again 🇹🇭❤️. But the journey was tough. We spent the morning in Japan - went shopping and went to the Pokémon Center for Kian. We wanted to take him a cuddly toy as a souvenir.
Unfortunately we couldn't decide on site and so in the end there were 3 😂. Did I used to laugh at my parents when they did something like that? Yes! Do I do it myself now and still think it's justified? Also yes 😂
We went to the airport around midday. We got there by train after about an hour and then things went pretty quickly. Check, departure, another portion of pasta to say goodbye and hey presto, the plane left.
This time, too, the 6-hour flight was super relaxed. Kian was in a good mood, played for two hours and slept the rest.
After landing in Bangkok we had to spend a few hours at the airport. Our flight left at 6 and we had to be at the airport at 4 - so a hotel wouldn't have been worth it.
Kian slept in his car and I was also able to close my eyes for a bit. Siar stayed awake - it's crazy how he manages that.
Our plane left for Koh Samui in good time. The 40 minutes flew by, Siar finally closed his eyes a bit and Kian and I played around a bit.
After landing in the van and to the ferry. It left straight away and we arrived on Koh Phangan shortly before 9am.
A pickup truck took us to our hotel. It is located on a remote beach on the island. The journey took about 30 minutes through the jungle. Beautiful.
Our hotel is located on a slope, directly on the beach. The complex is embedded in the jungle, with trees, palms and bushes all over it.
The bay is beautiful, the sea is clear and calm. The next 7 days will definitely be a good place to stay here.
After a 2 hour nap we went through the village and had a fruit bowl. We really missed fruits in Japan.
Dinner was right on the beach. Finally Thai food again — soooo delicious.
Next we want to eat at our hotel. It belongs to a Thai with Indian roots and so there is an Indian menu. We love Indian food and definitely want to try it.
We'll let you know how it tasted.
By the way, I'm currently sitting in a deckchair by the sea and writing you this post. Oh, life really couldn't be better.
