A taste of cyclone đź™…

Tshaj tawm: 19.10.2018

Almost 3 weeks ago, just before we set off for China and Fiji, I wrote this little report about the storm that hit Vanuatu surprisingly in late September. The cyclone season usually begins in November, but you can't rely on the 'normal' course of the weather conditions anymore.

At the beginning of the week, clouds kept coming and going, and different types of rain alternated with fewer and fewer dry periods.
Wednesday was already really difficult, but then it didn't stop raining for 3-4 days. It rained buckets, accompanied by strong winds and rapid rising water.
Due to the strong storm, many flights were canceled, but luckily for me, the storm had passed by the time of my departure, otherwise they would have canceled my flight too. I met the poor tourists who came to Vanuatu for a week and were hoping for the best weather, and they looked pale at the gate. Truly unfortunate :(

Well... Now it looks better again and our last month here has begun. Now we realize that we want to make the most of our time and have decided to explore the underwater world together. Based on many recommendations and local prices, we have started an Open Water Diving Course. Both during the course on site and on our further journey, we are looking forward to discovering many different underwater worlds. The pool session was already successful and soon we will report about the upcoming 4 dives :).

Now, as a result of the rainy days, there are some photos that I took during my rain walk through Port Vila. It's really cool with my new awesome camera, Lumix 300 (thanks Sarah :)).
