We leave the great pitch at the Lahn, because today is SHOPPING DAY!!
They say that anyone who goes to Obelink in Winterswijk, the Eldorado for campers, or the IKEA for campers, doesn't leave empty-handed. We wanted to find out exactly. So we drove about 245 km from the Lahn to the Netherlands. It's amazing, one third of our vacation is over and we have been to Germany, Austria, Italy, and the Netherlands. If we continue like this, Denmark will be next!
But back to today! Since Oddo's consumption test was still running, we got back on the highway. Continuing at 120-130 km/h. At the Dutch border, we refueled and were really amazed!
That's quite a number, something to be proud of.
In the Netherlands, the traffic is a bit more leisurely, so we drove comfortably through the countryside until we finally arrived at Obelink. Now money will be spent!
So we entered the store and WOW.... multiple floors, multiple halls. I could have grabbed the first basket that was simply in the way at the entrance. But I was kindly reminded that we wanted to eat first. Just like at IKEA.
But then it started and we plunged into the hustle and bustle. BAM, the first item was in the shopping cart... a brush for our Oddo. BAM... a spoon. We probably need it. BAM, the jumbo box Aqua Kem Blue, toilet fragrance says it all. BAM... adhesive tape, always useful. BAM... a new fly screen for our roof hatch. And BAM... an anti-rain-sun-wind wall for our awning. And because I was particularly well-behaved, I also got a cable reel with 25 meters of cable on top... BAM!
We were on a shopping spree, impressive what they have there.
We left Obelink very satisfied. We will come back sometime.
The second part of the day began. We had to do laundry. The Campercontact app has been delivering best results for days, so we quickly found a campsite with laundry facilities. Here we noticed that the Dutch have caravans, not motorhomes. On the entire spacious site, there were hundreds of caravans but only 4 motorhomes. All in firm Dutch hands and a German couple in the middle.... US! Also quite pleasant when you don't know what they're all talking about.
So we settled in our spot and loaded the washing machine. There also have to be days when you have to do something. Now we have some peace and quiet.
ODDO, who usually sat as a guardian of the road in front of the monitor of the rear-view camera, took up a new place... the entrance door. And so ODDO became the protector ODDO.
By the way, this was the way to the campsite. Not bad!
Tomorrow we will head towards..... I can't reveal it because it will be a surprise trip for Nasi.
Conclusion:
Obelink is worth a visit
Thanks to 865 KG payload, shopping at Obelink is no problem.
Why doesn't ODDO consume over 10 liters?
In the Netherlands, it's far from bedtime at 10 PM
The hustle and bustle here at the campsite resembles a marketplace
We've only completed one third of our vacation and we still have soooo much to do.
Firmly tightened screws on the fly screen door hold surprisingly well.
The saying "At night it's colder than outside" doesn't apply this summer
