One of the most famous ancient cities of Mesoamerica, it was a clash of migrations which began to form it during the first century AD. Its main buildings are the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon, the Palaces of the Jaguars and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl. Connecting them is the Avenue of the Dead.
The heyday of the city was from 250-600 AD, but social, economic and ecological struggles led to its downfall during the 8th century.
