After a night in a 4-star hotel that was more relaxing than any yoga class, we decided it was time for an Irish breakfast à la "Leprechaun". With a mixture of fried eggs, black pudding and a portion of Irish bread large enough to feed a football team, we set off for Kilkenny Castle.
The castle looked like it had just celebrated its first millennium and we felt like kings and queens on an Instagram-worthy adventure. After taking an inordinate number of photos (for posterity, of course), we still had time to explore the charming town of Kilkenny on our own. A bit like a fairy tale, only without the evil stepmother.
At midday we continued our journey to Waterford, with a stop at the "Rock of Cashel". It could also have been "Stone of Poor Sense of Direction" because we had difficulty finding it. But finally we reached the mystical place and marveled at the Rock of Cashel, which certainly had a fascinating history.
And then it happened - in a quaint Irish wool shop we stumbled across the softest, coziest Merino sweater we had ever seen. The sweater was so cozy that we wondered if there was such a thing as "sweater addiction." But we just couldn't resist, and so our day ended with a purchase that certainly put a smile on our credit card provider's face.
Overall, our day was filled with castle magic, adventures in a quaint town, and an unexpected conquest in the form of a sweater. This is the life of a travel blogger - full of surprises and wonderful memories. And who knows, maybe our next adventure will take us to the world of knitting leprechauns! 🍀🏰🌍
Now we are curious which hotel we will stay in today.
