I'm already doing many things for the last time: doing yoga one last time, going to the market again and letting the visual and olfactory impressions sink in, having a typical Nica drink at 'El Gordito' (The Fat One), overly sweetened but typical.
And just now I had a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the Irish Pub. I've always found the place unsympathetic. There's a TV hanging outside, playing a sports channel with sound on, while music blasts from a huge speaker. It's almost impossible to have a conversation. The drinks are cheap, anything else would be a rip-off: poorly mixed cocktails and lukewarm fruit juices, all in plastic cups. Of course, they also have beer, but what can go wrong with bottled beer.
I was there with a woman, a German woman, with whom I had a conversation some time ago. She sells homemade jewelry. Over ten years ago, she left Germany and flew to Latin America. Eventually, she ran out of money and had to earn some. By chance, she got into making jewelry. She's actually a librarian.
I have to close now, the Mojito is making me very sleepy.
