1000 Fireflies, Chinese people and one night
only 90 km from Brisbane lies the Springbrook National Park. The 'Natural Bridge' is particularly well-known in this national park. A natural bridge formed by a volcanic eruption and a waterfall falls directly into a kind of cave.
The cave was accessible and in the evening you can see thousands of green fireflies there. It looks as if green stars can be seen. Unfortunately, in addition to the thousands of fireflies, thousands of Chinese people could also be admired, who simply couldn't manage to turn off their damn flashlight... so the Chinese were actually a much bigger attraction than the fireflies. Really unbelievable, up to 10 busloads of Chinese people arrived, we felt like we were in China :-D. We really liked the Springbrook National Park, we took some walks through the rainforest and were able to observe the great waterfall. Only 700 m from the park, we stayed on the property of an older couple. Their property is so large that they turned it into a campground.
