Yes, you read that right. It's only a week, but better than nothing! School has been quite exhausting in the past few weeks, so it's a welcome change to be able to sleep in the mornings and visit all my exchange student colleagues. I will also have visitors for two days and probably eat a lot of cake. Speaking of cake, here's a shoutout to a certain Mrs. Ullrich: Last Wednesday (with my host parents' permission, of course) I went to Riiga to meet someone. Since the bus left at 5:40 am, I had breakfast at a café or pastry shop. They had the BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE ON THIS PLANET. It was relatively expensive, but one slice satisfied me for the whole day. So if you want to visit me, I'll gladly treat you to a piece. Anyway, I had a great time in Latvia's capital, especially in the park. The trees were colorful, the people were in a good mood, and I even had time for poetry. What more could you ask for.
Now let's talk about school: We have at least one test per week in every subject, but somehow I never study because I remember the material very well. Unfortunately, I have to say that my report card here is better than in Germany, especially in physics. In general, my school is known for its high academic level and for having the best results in Liepaja, but that's also because of the teachers. I mean, even I understand math and it's like a different language!! My classmates are Latvians, reserved, but I already have my buddies ;). Today, we were supposed to clean up the classroom and ended up fighting with brooms, which resulted in a broken mirror that I then cut myself on. Well, punishment is necessary. I have also accidentally destroyed a roller blind (it wanted it that way!!!!) and mistakenly thrown away some student work that was supposed to be displayed in the classroom. So far, no one has been mad at me, but for now, I don't want to provoke any more. You can tell that it's getting cold, which makes me even more aggressive when I think about my package with warm clothes being somewhere in Germany and I will probably never see my Koala shoes again. Thanks, Hermes!
By the way, my hair (which is incredibly inappropriate for autumn) will be blue soon. Stay tuned!
