Lazy day at Lake Texoma

Wednesday 21.5.14

I wake up at 7 AM, get up shortly after 8 AM and wash the dishes and cutlery before using them. Coffee machine works and I sit at our picnic table in the morning sun at 8:30 AM and write in my diary, drinking good coffee.

G. appears at 10:30 AM, we have breakfast and drive briefly to the other side of the bay in search of a beach.

So we grab our beach stuff and drive to the (closed) restaurant of the holiday complex next to the boat ramp. Unfortunately, the beach is a bit rocky and especially there is no shade here. So we go to the higher lawn area and just read.

We retreat to our cabin at 4:30 PM. Our direct neighbors left this morning. Otherwise, the trailers are empty and a few older gentlemen are now sitting in the gazebo next door and having a party. The cigarette butts are still in front of our cabin.

Next door, the guests from the rear terrace even threw their cans into the landscape. We've already complained about this at the reception - very German, indeed 😉.

I pack my new bag, which is shorter than the old one, but wider. Everything fits well, but it already weighs around 23kg. I still have the small second one with wheels, so the rest will fit in there, plus backpack... It will fit too - but will it still be acceptable as carry-on luggage?

We drive to McDonald's in Sherman to have internet.

The girls at the reception at Grandpappy's Point said the restaurant at the holiday complex has internet even if it is closed. Unfortunately, that is not the case, you can't get a connection there. So now we drive 7 miles to McDonald's, where we grab a cafe latte, surf the internet for a bit, then make a quick stop at CVS and return to the cabin. Eat something outside, have a can of beer (my god, how prollish! But it suits this place...) and go to bed at 11 PM.
