It wasn't just my smoke detectors that went off on two days in a row. My feet are burning like fire again. Every single toe, my hands. The pain has a different quality. The redness no longer just affects the toes; but extend over the back of the foot. I can hardly write this text because my fingers hurt so much and my arms pull up. Foot weakness is back. My legs are failing.
So this morning I went straight to the IFK outpatient clinic and had my blood taken there.
As if she sensed that I was feeling bad: the professor contacted me less than an hour later and wanted blood from me.
“I just had it removed at the other outpatient clinic.”
Really scary. Actually, my next appointment with her wasn't until April.
Well then. Short phone call. Pictures of my feet via email. Some time later the answer:
We still have to wait for values. But then another hospital admission and plasmapheresis. Afterwards we discuss with the professor of hematology whether we should apply for permanent plasmapheresis.
That would mean a shunt or Kimal catheter. That would mean massive restrictions in my everyday life and my work. But it would probably also save and prolong my life.
