Sylt (27.04.-01.05.18)

Day 1: Wenningstedt & Westerland

Our family was looking forward to the Sylt vacation for a long time. Finally, the first time with Buddy and all of us at the seaside. On the first 'real' day, we had mild, non-typical Sylt weather. Of course, we went straight to the dog beach in Wenningstedt. Buddy went crazy at his first touch of the sand and, as usual, didn't dare to go into the water (he's a Lab ?!). After a long walk on the beach to Westerland, we returned to our really nice vacation apartment in Wenningstedt.

Day 2: Kampen & Morsumer Kliff

In Kampen, we walked a bit through the dunes and took some photos at the red cliff. Buddy met many other dogs and had a great time. Afterwards, we went to the Morsum Kliff. We were almost the only ones there, although it was slightly drizzling. The nature there was impressive! The sand there is reddish-orange and when we were there, it was completely quiet.

Day 3: Keitum & Hörnum

We started the last day with a visit to the nice village of Keitum. After strolling through the thatched houses and shops, we made ourselves comfortable with a typical Frisian tea in the 'Kleine Teestube'. Next stop was Hörnum. The place in the south was perfect for an extensive beach walk that day, as to our delight, the sun came out! The beach section was completely deserted and the sand was pure white. The perfect ending for this family short trip.

Tips for dining/drinking on Sylt:

Eating out on Sylt is generally quite expensive (like everything else). Nevertheless, here are my favorites in case you don't feel like cooking in your vacation apartment:

Die Osteria (International, Italian)

- Huge portions & super delicious

- Great atmosphere (You can even eat in a beach chair with sand under your feet in one area)

Möller's Anker

- Expensive!

- More unique dishes (Interesting & very tasty)
