Great Bear Rainforest

Now it was into the wilderness: by seaplane to a lodge floating in a deeply cut fjord (Knight Inlet). There is no internet or phone there, but there are grizzly bears.

The days are scheduled by timetables, the staff keep track of where each guest is located in case of emergencies...

On various estuary tours (being taken into the river mouth on a small boat) or from the stands (observation platforms), we had the opportunity to observe some bears in detail. We also had a great view of the landscape on a short hike.

Too soon we went back to civilization...
