So when it comes to walking on the windy beach or staying under the warm blanket, my decision is not difficult. After lying down and taking a hot shower, it is not so cold outside anymore. We continue to Mount Eccles NP to hike around Lake Surprise. There was a volcanic eruption with several craters here in ancient times, lava flowed down to the sea, and at least one of the crater holes has filled with water. The Surprise Lake. We choose the longer of the hikes offered, always along the rim, which will soon prove to be a problem because the path creators took the phrase 'along the rim' too literally. It goes steeply uphill and steeply downhill. The weather is good for hiking, not too hot and not raining. Soon we pass a lava tube, which are tubes or tunnels through which lava once flowed and which have not collapsed. There is no light, but also nothing to see. We hike and pass viewpoints, another smaller crater that is covered with trees, and finally return to the car after 4 km. Nice hike, worth it. Now we visit a natural bridge, (Natural Bridge) and descend to the bottom. We continue towards the South Australia border, still visit a gorge, but it is different than we imagined, instead of narrow cliffs, speedboats are sailing on a river and we watch from above. By the way, we saw four koalas on the road. Unfortunately, taking photos against the light and at such height is not suitable for nice photos. And snake number 4 was lying on the road today, a small one, and it quickly disappeared when we got closer with our car. Now we are in Mt. Gambier, South Australia, we gained 30 minutes due to the local central Australian summer time, and we let the day come to an end.
