23 From Schiermonnikoog to Pieterburen - Enjoying headwind fun

- Enjoying the last morning on Schiermonnikoog

- Packing things, contacting a few more Wwoof hosts -> So far only rejections due to Corona and/or other Wwoofers already on site, but at least receiving some feedback!

- Taking the ferry back to the mainland at noon, exploring the Lauwersmeer region

- Being relatively planless again, but dealing with it much more relaxed this time and listening to my gut feeling ;)

- Continuing along the coast to Pieterburen: First on beautiful, unusually narrow cycle paths through a military area, then straight on a wide asphalt road along the dike - of course against the wind...

- Relatively sparsely populated area, only very small villages and a lot of agriculture

- Original plan for a place to sleep: Asking farmers if I can camp on their property, but then arriving exhausted in Pieterburen and simply staying at the first small campsite

- Unfortunately, the large seal rescue station in the village is closed due to Corona... Mudflat hikes are only offered on a few dates...

- Decision to continue cycling to Groningen directly the next day
