Day 16 - 05.07.2024 Bear Island

The day started after breakfast with a horse riding round for the girls. Juliane back on Elly, Henriette on Toben. Meanwhile, Martin watched the soccer game Germany against Spain. Christoph set up an extra television and through Swiss VPN we were able to watch it too. Unfortunately, it did not turn out in favor of Germany...

Later on, we paddled with the kayak to 'Bear Island' on Clearwater Lake. Christoph had set up a new tipi two days ago, which we wanted to see. At the tipi, we saw bear tracks, which later turned out to be real. We had a picnic at the tipi and then paddled back. The lake was very rough today and we had quite a struggle with the waves.

When we got back, we went for another round of swimming. The next few days are expected to be up to 34 degrees... we will miss the lake.

For dinner, I finally got my long-awaited grilled steak. We will miss the good food here. It was not always quite suitable for the children ;-)

Tomorrow it will be time to leave again. It was beautiful here, and we will definitely miss it.
