The journey to Tropea was extremely tricky. There are one-way streets everywhere or it is closed to vehicles over 3.5 tons. My driver was visibly and loudly annoyed 🙉 when he decided to drive down the unauthorized road anyway. We immediately understood why larger vehicles are not allowed to drive here, but unfortunately it was already too late... two extremely tight turns, this time I thought we would get stuck🙈and behind us were quite a few impatient Italian drivers. But Markus managed to do it somehow.
We have chosen a campsite by the sea, and we will stay for a few days because it is simply so wonderfully beautiful here.
The sea is crystal clear and it is still wonderfully warm for this time of year☀️
The old town is reached by many steps, it is built on top of the cliffs. The higher we climb, the better the view becomes.
Once we reached the top, we explored the old town. It is pleasantly cool in the alleys.
We sit in a café and order an ice cream sundae. It was the biggest banana split I've ever seen 😂
But super delicious 😋
Then we go to the observation terrace...
Breathtaking views at dizzying heights
In the evening, we went back up to the old town
