Good morning - today was a really beautiful hike 😀 well-rested (we slept until 8 o'clock, when it was already bright), packed all our things and went to the next café (they all open at 9:30 am) where we discussed our tour for today. It would be good to reach Padron, as it's only 25 km to Santiago and we would have a day off 😀
However, the nice accommodation in Padron is only available from tomorrow - hm??? So we call there - OK English didn't work; I somehow keep the nice lady on the phone entertained and Anne translates a few bits of Spanish. She seems to understand that we want to come today and stay for two days😀 OK, let's go
On the way, we start to feel a bit suspicious and ask Stefan to book a room just to be on the safe side - it works 😀
On the way, we meet everyone again - the Canadians, the older English people, and many German fellow pilgrims. We missed the father and son from Italy today - but we will definitely see them.
Arriving in Padron (the entry path was rather shocking) we thought OK, maybe we'll only stay for one night - the city doesn't look that great. But then we arrive at the small pension that we booked for tomorrow - and miraculously, the Spanish lady understood me this morning and we have a really cute place to stay for today and tomorrow 😀😀 There's a beautiful garden in front of the door - we can spend the day there tomorrow and then the last 25 km are waiting for us - we will surely manage that with ease 😊
