Cartagena/Spain

Today I had booked a tapas tour for 10 a.m. The meeting point was conveniently close to our pier. Our tour guide introduced himself as Bruno.

Our group of about 15 people started on time. We walked into the pedestrian zone, which was completely covered with floor tiles, got information about various buildings and reached our first tapas restaurant. There we had a kind of stuffed croquettes, accompanied by a "tinto de verano" (red wine with lemon soda). Both were delicious.

After visiting the Roman ruins, we reached a particularly quaint restaurant with a life-sized metal figure at the counter and a fountain in the dining room. They served an oblong pastry covered in fish cream and topped with an anchovy. It was served with white vermouth. Very good.

Our last restaurant was in a square with some statues. Here we had "wild potatoes", which were better than the one we had the day before because the sauce was much spicier. We also had a Café Asiatico, which consists of coffee, condensed milk, brandy and Liqueur 43.

Afterwards, Bruno showed us the way to the ship and we parted ways. Before that, he had given me a tip about a museum where one of the world's first submarines was supposed to be on display.

I admired the submarine and also a collection of models of historical sailing ships, two of which I had already seen in their original size.

Afterwards I visited the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, which displays treasures recovered from the sea.

With live music and dinner, the time passed until the concert "Marquee" by our orchestra and the "Voices of Serenade".
