Today I slept in for a long time - I need a quiet day off. We're going to San Gimignano today, but at a leisurely pace. Since I don't have to leave the apartment until the afternoon, I slowly strolled through corners I hadn't been to yet. This included the church - today I was able to go in without a ticket right after the service - then along the street past this nice fountain, a bit through the woods and then to the gelateria. And imagine this - since I've been there three days in a row, the nice young Italian man gave me a scoop🙈😍I love Italy!
Then I took the bus through Tuscany after this quiet and nice start to the day, I dragged my luggage through the bumpy streets of San Gimignano quite laboriously and then checked in at Palazzo Mainardi, with Brunella, this charming landlady from last year. And what can I say, my Italian has actually become quite good by now and we had a great conversation.
Later in the village I had dinner, had an Aperol - I'm back😍
Insight of the day: even or especially the familiar is wonderful.
