After falling into bed like rocks last night, the alarm clock woke us up a bit later today. The cozy breakfast at the kitchen table consisted of sea buckthorn yogurt with muesli and bread rolls with cold cuts, while the sun slowly emerged from behind the clouds.
After packing everything up around 12:00, we left the accommodation and hiked across the island towards the ferry terminal. Here we sat in the sun on a bench for a while before check-in began and the 'Baltic Princess' picked us up again.
After storing our backpacks in the locker, we decided to visit the buffet restaurant. Here we paid €27 per person and spent the next one and a half hours stuffing ourselves at a table with a sea view with shrimp, fish, calamari salad, chicken skewers, tacos, roast beef, reindeer, baked potatoes, chocolate mousse, cake, strange Finnish cheese, and much more. There were also juices, soft drinks, red and white wine, beer, and even hot drinks. We probably consumed our own weight. 😂
Overall, not cheap, but definitely the best and most abundant meal of the trip so far!
We spent the rest of the crossing through the archipelago with a walk and a nap in the sun on the outdoor deck, an extensive visit to the 'Cosmetic Boutique', and reading by the window with a sea view.
After five and a half hours in Turku and now really in Finland, we only had a short way to go to today's accommodation, the international hostel 'Bore'. The special thing: The hostel is a ship and we are staying in a cabin accordingly. 😄
Now that the beds are made, we are sitting in the common room where there is fortunately wifi. There is also a copy of E.T.A. Hoffmann's 'Das Fräulein von Scuderi' from 1957 and a Brigitte magazine from 2011.
As expected, the Borea also has a sauna, which we want to visit tomorrow morning - until then, hopefully, we will have a restful night on the second ship of the day.
