Veracruz ...

Hoʻopuka ʻia: 05.03.2019

After three months on tour, we will slowly start the journey back home. Private reasons as well as the realization that this period in an exotic environment is the time limit for us, especially with Naima, drive us to do so.

Veracruz is the port from which the so-called VW ships depart. Here, the products from Puebla are shipped to Europe and China. Therefore, we also have a perfect German-speaking agent here. All formalities can be easily done. However, you have to spend at least three days on site to arrange everything.

We have been staying outside on a nice campsite directly at the beach for the last few days and enjoying the peaceful days.

Washing the car again at Star Wash for the equivalent of 3 euros. One hour by hand with a final oiling of the tires. It looks like new. Only the rusty shovel didn't get any better *laughs*.

The final customs check with a customs officer, three marines, and a drug dog in sweltering heat is still quick. After that, lock the car and make it as burglar-proof as possible. Thanks to the pop-up roof, you can secure everything inside and exit through the roof.

We continue the journey in a sporty white VW Jetta. Suddenly, you don't stand out anymore, as this model in this color is one of the best-selling vehicles in Mexico. Just put some towels on the windows for sun protection and voila, you look like a local.
